A photo with the franchise owners he helped into business
Anyone who wants to know what he finds rewarding in franchise development.
In short
Rob Lancit posts a group photo and explains why it matters to him. Across his career he has helped many people become business owners through franchising, and he says he cannot remember the last time so many of them were in one room.
Looking at the faces, he describes a sense of fulfillment. Each person stands for a stretch of growth and persistence that he had a part in, from early guidance to seeing the business open. He calls the work a passion, not a job, and frames it as helping people pursue something of their own and do some good for their families and the communities they serve. He ends with a blunt line about how much he likes his job.
In a podcast interview recorded a few months later he describes what appears to be the same moment: at the company’s annual conference he took a picture with about a dozen people he had put in business over the previous year, and called it the most rewarding picture he could have had.
“What I do for a living isn’t just a job; it’s a passion.”
