On having people read the book, and a first signing
A reader interested in the first days after publication.
In short
A week after the book came out, Rob Lancit writes about what it is like to have people read it. For months, he says, it was only him, a computer and stories he was not sure he wanted others to see, and he had not expected to feel as vulnerable as he did once they were public.
He reports that the response has been better than he imagined, with messages and photos from readers, and thanks everyone who has read Take My Advice, I’m Not Using It. He then says he will be at the IFA World Franchise Show in Fort Lauderdale that weekend with a few copies, some of them signed, and asks recipients to wait at least a week before listing theirs on eBay.
A follow-up post three days later confirms he held an impromptu signing at the show and that being an author still felt a little unreal to him.
“Having people read your book is a strange experience.”
