Thank you after the first South Florida Franchise Meetup
A franchise professional in South Florida, or anyone thinking of starting a local industry meetup.
In short
Posted the morning after the first South Florida Franchise Meetup, this is Rob Lancit’s thank-you note and his reason for starting the event. He reports a strong turnout and sharp conversations, and says the night reminded him why he wanted a space like it: the industry is better when people get in a room and talk instead of pitching each other. He excludes himself from the smart people in the room as a joke.
He credits Matthew Cancino for helping make it happen, from building the site to making sure each person who walked in felt welcome. He says the feedback was strongly positive, that the next meetup will likely be in the first quarter of 2026, and that anyone who wants an invitation can message him. He asks readers to bring in people who should be in the room.
His December 2025 newsletter adds the format: no pitches, no panels, only conversation. By then two meetups had been held.
“This industry is better when smart people (present company excluded of course!) get in a room and actually talk instead of just pitch.”
